Glenburgh Project Project Overview

Uranium, Copper,Gold

  • Four major mineralized shear zones highly anomalous in U, base metals and gold, intersect in Aurora’s 1266 km2 project
  • Magnetics-radiometrics Survey designed to delineate targets for Mary Kathleen uranium and Ernest Henry copper –gold – style deposits
  • Geological similarities to Cloncurry District, Mt Isa Inlier in Queensland
  • Drill targets to follow
  • Similarities to Cloncurry District in Queensland - Uranium – Base Metals

The Province is interpreted to have similarities to the Cloncurry District of Mt Isa where copper, gold and uranium mineralization, such as that at Ernest Henry and Mary Kathleen occur at fault intersections or jogs.

The strong uranium footprint in the Gascoyne Complex suggests that any mineralisation may have a significant uranium component

Both the Gascoyne Complex and the Cloncurry District comprise high grade metamorphic rocks.

Uranium Anomalies

There are a large number of known uranium mineralized occurrences in the Gascoyne Complex and this strong uranium footprint suggests that any mineralisation may have a significant uranium component.

Uranium appears to occur in several hardrock settings in the Gascoyne Complex including pegmatites, veins and shears, and as secondary occurrences as carnotite in surficial calcrete deposits formed within an extensive system of

Previous explorers reported surface rock chip grades in excess of 1500ppm U3O8 from calcrete deposits. Recently an inferred surface calcrete uranium resource of 10 million pounds of U3O8 was announced for the nearby Minindi Well deposit (refer Maps).

Currently, calcrete uranium exploration is being undertaken by several companies throughout the Gascoyne Complex.

Major Mineralized Structures Trending Into Aurora’s Tenements

Several major throughgoing structures traverse the Gascoyne Complex, trending NW, E-W and NE. A significant number of the known uranium, copper-zinc and gold showings appear to be located on these structures, four of which trend directly into, and come together within Aurora’s Glenburgh Project tenements (refer Maps).

Evaluation of the Company’s regional airmagnetic database indicates these structures are associated with linear magnetic lows (or de-magnetised zones) which are interpreted to be the result of hydrothermal alteration. The structures are considered to be potential pathways for mineralizing fluids.

Target Zone

The zone of structural intersection which lies within the Glenburgh Project is approximately 14km in east–west strike length and up to 8km wide and will form the focus of the Company’s targeting. Further targets are expected from ongoing assessment.

Proposed Exploration Program

Seven discrete targets have already been identified in the main target zone. Initial ground based prospecting and a detailed low-level airborne radiometric-magnetic survey are planned to better define the structures and de-magnetised zones and identify discrete radiometric and magnetic “blips” which will form the focus for follow up drilling.

Exploration will be dovetailed with Desert Energy Limited’s planned airborne radiometrics to identify potential surficial calcrete uranium mineralisation.

Previous Gold Results

Previous explorers identified gold mineralisation at West Point and Clever Mary (see Glenburgh detailed map) which appears to continue eastwards up to Aurora’s tenement boundary (see ELA 52/1990 on map).

Significant previous gold exploration results include:

Clever Mary Prospect (immediately west of ELA 52/1990)

  • Rotary Air Blast (RAB) drill intersections include 6m at 1.93g/tAu, 5m at 2.33g/t Au and 9m at 1.57g/t Au.

Multiplication Prospect (within granted EL 52/1969)

  • RAB drill intersection of 2m at 3.54g/t Au
  • Previous explorers reported panning visible gold from stream and soil samples and drill chips.
  • A 2.5km long east-west trending gold-in-stream anomaly lies in the north western part and does not appear to have been followed-up.

Aurora Minerals has retained the hardrock mineral rights to the Glenburgh Project. The calcrete uranium rights are held by Aurora’s subsidiary company Desert Energy Limited under a sub-license agreement.
